Southwestern China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region generated 18.76 TWh of electricity in August, while consumption totaled 22.57 TWh in the same month, showed data from local development and reform commission.
The commission did not publish the changes compared with the previous year.
The generation included 4.67 TWh of hydropower, 10.50 TWh of thermal power, 1.65 TWh of nuclear power, 1.15 TWh wind and 788 GWh solar, the data showed.
For consumption, the primary industries – mainly the agricultural sector – consumed 479 GWh of electricity in August; the secondary industries – mainly the industrial sector (13.02 TWh) – used 13.28 TWh; and the tertiary industries – mainly the service sector – registered 3.73 TWh. Additionally, residential power use totaled 5.09 TWh.
In January-August, the southwestern region produced 150.71 TWh of electricity, including 28.07 TWh of hydropower, 86.20 TWh of thermal power, 15.71 TWh of nuclear power, 16.19 TWh wind and 4.53 TWh solar.
Power consumption reached 162.27 TWh in the first eight months, with the primary industries at 3.32 TWh, the secondary industries 100.75 TWh (industrial sector 99.01 TWh), the tertiary industries 24.22 TWh, and the residential use 33.97 TWh.
