China's power generation of all sources totaled 846.2 TWh in July, a 3.6% rise from a year earlier, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on August 15.
The year-on-year growth increased by 0.8 percentage point compared with that of June. Daily power generation averaged 27.3 TWh in July.
The output of thermal power, mostly coal-fired, totaled 599.7 TWh in July, up 7.2% year on year; hydropower declined 17.5% to 121.1 TWh; wind power 61.4 TWh, up 25%; nuclear power 38 TWh, up 2.9%; solar power 25.9 TWh, up 6.4%, the NBS data showed.
During January-July, China's power generation totaled 5,013 TWh, a 3.8% rise from 2022.
Thermal power generation totaled 3,547.4 TWh in the first seven months this year, up 7.5% year on year; hydropower declined 21.8% to 571.7 TWh; wind power climbed 16.8% to 483.6 TWh; nuclear rose 5.9% to 249.9 TWh; and solar rose 7.9% to 160.4 TWh.
